Slime 2018-A Super Magnetic Dial Gauge (0-60 PSI) Review

3 stars because the product does exactly what is stated. I was disappointed that it feels so light, cheap and small in my hand. It does have the impression that a drop, stepping on it, etc., would make it history. The dial numbers are small, but readable. However, prior to buying this one, I had bought a much superior Slime, heavy metal gauge at an auto parts store that is more effective than this device, at about the same cost and the valve on that model being both bleeder/last pressure type. The valve on this Slime 2018-A gauge, as stated, is just that, a bleeder valve only. Not both a bleeder and 'maintain the pressure reading' if removed from valve stem.

The connection to the valve stem, in my case, is very snug. So snug that I can push it on and it stays by itself showing the tire pressure - guess that could be a good thing, but I have to put it on in a way that allows me to see the dial to read it. Time will bear out if the shock proof material lasts and the connection area wallows out.

I wouldn't recommend this as your only pressure gauge, but what I can recommend is this makes a great backup, secondary, tertiary, etc. gauge and for anyone with less than perfect eyesight to take a trip to their local auto zone and pickup the metal/larger dial & numbers model that you can take the pressure reading, pull it away from the tire to get to your optimal viewing position and then push the button to reset to zero.

Product Description:
Slime's Super Magnetic Dial Gauge is handy and easy to use. The dial gauge measures 0 to 60 PSI, and the attached bleeder valve allows the release of air until the ideal pressure is achieved, preventing time-consuming multiple measurements. It is shockproof and has a powerfully magnetized back, allowing it to stick (and survive) just about anywhere -- the shop, inside the tool box, and even above the visor. Slime's Super Magnetic Dial Gauge helps monitor optimal tire inflation, which minimizes tread wear, increases gas mileage and improves handling, saving money on gas and maintenance.

Milton Dial Type Air Gauge 0 60 Psi (MILS902) Review

I have used this gauge for a year now, and I have confidence in it.While I agree with the other reviewer that it is plastic and does feel like it would crack if dropped, I find it accurate and reliable. While I can't exactly test its accuracy, I can tell you that I get consistant results. The needle goes quickly and firmly to the appropriate reading, and doesn't jump around. My advice is not to drop it, but even if was housed in a steel cage, an avid car enthusiast would be careful not to drop it either way.

Accutire MS-4445B Programmable Talking Tire Gauge with Lighted Tip and Storage Case Review

This gauge appears to work well and the 'voice' feature is handy as is the 'programmable' feature. However, I agree with prior reviewers' comment that one needs 'good aim' to get a good seal. I've been checking tires for 50 years and still need precise positioning to keep air from escaping while trying to check it!I'm not sure why this is such a problem - Accutire needs to come up with a better nozzle design.

Accutire MS-4020GB Standard Digital Tire Gauge Review

This product was purchased in the Fall of 2002...
Of the ten or so units on the display rack, two of the units' LCD readout turned on by itself when I squeezed the handle. The reading was 00.0.The units may have been dropped by other customers.Who knows.
Having checked all of the open box units (the newer shipments were sealed in plastic blister packages), I bought the one without the abnormal symptons. For comparison, I also bought a store brand Mastercraft Canadian Tire LCD digital unit for the same non-discounted price.Thank goodness for their generous refund policy at this store.
Tests were conducted on one cold tire. After 3 readings, the Accutire consistently read 30 psig (which was the recommended tire pressure for my car). The Canadian Tire unit consistently read 30.5 psig. The cheapest spring loaded stick-type tire gage consistently read 32 psig.
I can safely declare that either one of the Accutire and Canadian Tire gages are correct within 0.5 psig as specified. The stick-type gage is way off.
Pros;
1)Accurate to within 0.5 psig which is acceptable for safe and economical driving.
2)[cost less]
3)5 year warranty.
4)Aside from the occasional cleaning of the tip, and as long as you don't drop it; it's maintenance free.
5)Low temperature tolerable lithium battery.
6)For my hands, the unit has an ergonomically comfortable rubber-coated grip.
7)Air tight seal on all valves tested everytime.
Cons;
1)A bit chunky in size for compact storage inside the car.
2)It's an electronic equipment, so be delicate with it.
3)Not designed to be water resistant.
The unit has sat inside the car through one 2002 frosty southern Ontario winter, and several hot and humid 2003 summer days.No problems so far.
A valuable and value priced tool.

Accu-gage Tire Pressure Guage - 100 PSI Range Swivel Angle Review

We have a calibration standard for checking tire pressure gauges at work. I found this gauge to read 2.5 PSI higher than the standard at 40 PSI. Lower readings were closer. Higher readings were worse. This unit is flimsy and rather delicate. To get the tire gauge I needed, I wound up paying more than double the price of this unit. So, perhaps my expectations were set too high.

Tire Minder Valve Stem Tire Pressure Guages - 36psi Review

I brought a set of valve stem tire pressure guages hoping that I don't have to check the tire pressure again.

The pressure gauge is made three parts:
- A metal valve stem tire cap that thread to the valve stem.
- A clear see through plastic cap on top of the metal cap.
- A color stick (yellow, green, or red) inside the plastic cap that sticks out when tire pressure is low.

Out of the box, the color stick indicator is visible since there is no pressure exerts on it. When it it putting on the value stem on the tire, the stick will be invisible if the pressure is above the designed psi.

So you don't have to bend down and check the tire pressure again by just walking around the car and see if any of the gauge has color stick visible on it. If it is, you need to add more air to the tire.

You can buy the Valve Stem Tire Pressure Guages at 32, 36psi.

However, after just one day of use, out of four gauges, one has its plastic cap and yellow stick falling off and the other has its yellow stick comming out even thought the pressure is correct. So DOA at 50%.That is totally unacceptable for a simple device like this.

Longacre Liquid Filled Deluxe Tire Gauge 0-60 psi Review

Longacre is a very respected name for all kinds of racing related products, so the name commands a small premium on the price. You could spend a bit less and still get an accurate tire gauge, but not one with all these features. The rubber bumper and liquid (oil) filling makes this a gauge you can take along with you in your car tool box without worrying about bumps and vibration knocking it out of calibration. The idea of the pressure equalization screw is really what sold me.I've been using it for months, and I expect years of service ahead.

Accu-gage - Chek A Spare Review

A flat or low pressure spare tire = no spare tire! But spares are a pain to check and inflate. Mine are always buried in a well under a cover and with various tools on top. Some have spares mounted under the car. The inconvenient inaccessibility is why spares are so often flat. This brass and rubber extender enables me to snake the fill tube to an easily accessed part of the car. Now checking the spare tire pressure and adding air doesn't require digging out the tire or crawling under the car. I would give it 5 stars, but have to see how well it holds up over time. If it is anything like their well-built Accu-gage EZ - Air Tire Gauge, I won't be disappointed.

Product Description:
Works as an extension to your spare's valve stem making it more accessible. One end screws on to the valve stem on the tire. The other end is placed in a convenient location. Use a tire gauge or an air hose on the Chek-A-Spare just as on a tire valve stem. A must for hard-to-reach spare tires! Use to check the pressure and to inflate when needed. Once installed it is always ready to use. Great for Pickups, SUV's, Sports Cars, Station Wagons and Mini Vans.

Professional Products 11103 0-60 PSI Tire Gauge with 13mm HD hose Review

This gauge works on 3 of my tires. On the 4th tire, it cannot depress the valve so it cannot take a reading (another gauge works on this tire). When it works, pressing the bleed button causes the air to very slowly leak out, but the gauge needle does not move when the air is bleeding. It shows the new pressure after the button is released, so I have to press, release, check, press, release, check, press, release, check ...

Dual Dynamics - Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System, 100 PSI, one per pkg. (CF100STABT) Review

I saw one of these on a friend's motorhome and decided they would be a good safety factor for my motorhome. You only have to fill one easy-to-get-at valve stem and both tires of your dualie set filled to the same pressure. It warns you when your pressure drops more than 10%.And, if one tire has a fast leak or blow out, a safety valve shuts off the air from the good tire so it doesn't go flat, too.The only problem is, you'd expect the kit to come with two sets, since every vehicle with dualies has two sets of dualies.Much to my surprise, there was only one in the package, now I have to order another one.The drawback is the price and the labor to install, which will require a truck tire-shop.

Product Description:
Americas Leading Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System Saves You Time and Money.

Dual tires have a set of problems all their own. In motion, the inner tires temperature increases due to in-board brakes and poor air circulation. This causes increased air pressure, which expands the inner tires diameter. As a result, the dual tire configuration is now distorted- the diameters are unequal. Crossfire is a pressure equalizing and monitoring valve that is mounted between dual tires. It bolts easily to the lug, hub cap, or drive axle end. Properly mounted, air freely flows from one tire to the other, maintaining equal tire pressure and load distribution. The Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization system:

Maximizes tire life
Decreases rolling resistance for increased fuel mileage
Cuts maintenance time due to single-point inflation and the visual pressure gauge
Improves stability, braking and overall safety
Installs in minutes and requires little maintenance
Pays for itself in less than a year
American-made and guaranteed for two years

This Crossfire System is for ONE dual tire set and comes with:
2 Stainless Steel Hoses, one with straight fitting and one with 180 fitting
3 mounting bracket types:

Bracket A: installed on the 5/8"" or 3/4"" drive axle bolts of both disc and spoke wheels. If the wheel has a hubcap, it can be snapped on over the bracket.
Bracket B: mounts directly on the 1-1/4"" lug bolt.
Bracket T: mounts on the 1/4"" bolt that secures the hub cap to either a disc or spoke wheel.
