Accutire MS-4445B Programmable Talking Tire Gauge with Lighted Tip and Storage Case Review

This gauge appears to work well and the 'voice' feature is handy as is the 'programmable' feature. However, I agree with prior reviewers' comment that one needs 'good aim' to get a good seal. I've been checking tires for 50 years and still need precise positioning to keep air from escaping while trying to check it!I'm not sure why this is such a problem - Accutire needs to come up with a better nozzle design.

Tire Minder Valve Stem Tire Pressure Guages - 36psi Review

I brought a set of valve stem tire pressure guages hoping that I don't have to check the tire pressure again.

The pressure gauge is made three parts:
- A metal valve stem tire cap that thread to the valve stem.
- A clear see through plastic cap on top of the metal cap.
- A color stick (yellow, green, or red) inside the plastic cap that sticks out when tire pressure is low.

Out of the box, the color stick indicator is visible since there is no pressure exerts on it. When it it putting on the value stem on the tire, the stick will be invisible if the pressure is above the designed psi.

So you don't have to bend down and check the tire pressure again by just walking around the car and see if any of the gauge has color stick visible on it. If it is, you need to add more air to the tire.

You can buy the Valve Stem Tire Pressure Guages at 32, 36psi.

However, after just one day of use, out of four gauges, one has its plastic cap and yellow stick falling off and the other has its yellow stick comming out even thought the pressure is correct. So DOA at 50%.That is totally unacceptable for a simple device like this.

Longacre Liquid Filled Deluxe Tire Gauge 0-60 psi Review

Longacre is a very respected name for all kinds of racing related products, so the name commands a small premium on the price. You could spend a bit less and still get an accurate tire gauge, but not one with all these features. The rubber bumper and liquid (oil) filling makes this a gauge you can take along with you in your car tool box without worrying about bumps and vibration knocking it out of calibration. The idea of the pressure equalization screw is really what sold me.I've been using it for months, and I expect years of service ahead.

Professional Products 11103 0-60 PSI Tire Gauge with 13mm HD hose Review

This gauge works on 3 of my tires. On the 4th tire, it cannot depress the valve so it cannot take a reading (another gauge works on this tire). When it works, pressing the bleed button causes the air to very slowly leak out, but the gauge needle does not move when the air is bleeding. It shows the new pressure after the button is released, so I have to press, release, check, press, release, check, press, release, check ...

Dual Dynamics - Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System, 100 PSI, one per pkg. (CF100STABT) Review

I saw one of these on a friend's motorhome and decided they would be a good safety factor for my motorhome. You only have to fill one easy-to-get-at valve stem and both tires of your dualie set filled to the same pressure. It warns you when your pressure drops more than 10%.And, if one tire has a fast leak or blow out, a safety valve shuts off the air from the good tire so it doesn't go flat, too.The only problem is, you'd expect the kit to come with two sets, since every vehicle with dualies has two sets of dualies.Much to my surprise, there was only one in the package, now I have to order another one.The drawback is the price and the labor to install, which will require a truck tire-shop.

Product Description:
Americas Leading Dual Tire Pressure Equalization System Saves You Time and Money.

Dual tires have a set of problems all their own. In motion, the inner tires temperature increases due to in-board brakes and poor air circulation. This causes increased air pressure, which expands the inner tires diameter. As a result, the dual tire configuration is now distorted- the diameters are unequal. Crossfire is a pressure equalizing and monitoring valve that is mounted between dual tires. It bolts easily to the lug, hub cap, or drive axle end. Properly mounted, air freely flows from one tire to the other, maintaining equal tire pressure and load distribution. The Crossfire Dual Tire Pressure Equalization system:

Maximizes tire life
Decreases rolling resistance for increased fuel mileage
Cuts maintenance time due to single-point inflation and the visual pressure gauge
Improves stability, braking and overall safety
Installs in minutes and requires little maintenance
Pays for itself in less than a year
American-made and guaranteed for two years

This Crossfire System is for ONE dual tire set and comes with:
2 Stainless Steel Hoses, one with straight fitting and one with 180 fitting
3 mounting bracket types:

Bracket A: installed on the 5/8"" or 3/4"" drive axle bolts of both disc and spoke wheels. If the wheel has a hubcap, it can be snapped on over the bracket.
Bracket B: mounts directly on the 1-1/4"" lug bolt.
Bracket T: mounts on the 1/4"" bolt that secures the hub cap to either a disc or spoke wheel.

Accutire MS-5520B RV & Truck Gauge large LCD w/.5 resolution 0 - 150 PSI Review

I bought this tire gauge specifically to check the tire pressure of my F350 dually. The factory installed steel extenders made using pencil type gauges or other digital gauges impractical, particularly for checking the inner and outer rear tires.Even though this gauge is sold for 'dual rear wheel trucks', I had to bend the steel tube about 5 degrees so it could make solid contact with the inner tire inflation stem.Once it was bent, the gauge worked perfectly!NOTE: I had friends at a machine shop bend the steel tube for me, it was too stiff to bend by hand or in a vice. The gauge has big digits that are easy to read, even without my cheater glasses. The air release button on the handle is convienent to use - even though I first thought it was for the display.I have found it best to test the pressure, add more air than needed and then slowly release it using a combination of the button and disengaging and reengaging the gauge and testing until you get the desired tire pressure.I found that if I failed to disengage and then reengage the tire pressure gauge, it tended to give me the same reading without resetting. The guys at the garages always 'OHHHH and AHHHH' when I open the case and pull out this impressive tool.It was well worth the money and Amazon had the best price of the various sites I visited while price shopping.Oh, yea, I had to cut the plastic case a tad to allow for the bent tube to properly fit in the case so it would close.

Tire Check Tire Pressure Valve Caps by Kleen Wheels Review

We bought several of these for our fleet and they seem to work well.Just make sure that the tires are properly inflated before installation or they are useless. We are estimating 2-3% gas savings as well as better road safety due to properly inflated tired.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Tire Check Tire Pressure Valve Caps by Kleen Wheels

Product Description:
Kleen Wheels Tire Check is a valve cap that indicates if your tire is in need of air with a red flag. Tire Check replaces your old valve cap. Just screw it on. Normally you will see a green button under the clear protective dome. When the tire pressure drops 2-3 psi (pounds per square inch) or more, a red flag will pop out of the green button. Tire Check will automatically reset itself to the new pressure.Correct tire pressure is vital to safe driving. Over inflation makes tires more prone to blowouts and punctures, while under inflation throws off your tires' alignment. Correctly inflating your tires once is not enough to keep them at the right pressure, even if you haven't had a puncture.Tire Check will indicate that you need air, not how much. You still need a gauge to see how much air your tire needs and if you've added the correct amount. Get an Accutire Tire Pressure Gauge to make sure your tires are properly inflated.

Accutire MS-4751WC Digital Programmable Tire Gauge with Light Review

I assume that Amazon will directly be selling this product at some point in the future (1/2008 right now), so I wanted to take the time to review this product.

I purchased this product from Costco for Christmas (well, the wife did for me) ... price was about $15.The model number was MS-4751WC.I can't see a difference betweeen mine and the MS-4751B advertised here.

Correcting some specs that are in the description ... Range is 5-99 PSI, Accuracy is +/- 1% + 0.1 PSI.Resolution is .1 PSI.The unit uses two replaceable batteries (CR2032).The unit is extremely well built ... with a heavy solid feeling that probably comes from its 1/2 pound weight! The unit is 5-1/4" Long by 2-1/2" Wide by 1-1/4" Thick. There is a bright white LED light in the tip of the unit that works well.Strange is that neither the users guide nor the unit itself tells you the model number ... it is only on the cardboard in the blister pack.Perhaps it is under the battery compartment that is held on by a philips screw. The actual display is 1-1/2 in diameter. The unit comes with a nice zippered storage case.

The unit allows you to program in front and rear tire pressures, and then will indicate if your pressure is either high or low.It looks more like a marketing gimmick, but I did program the front tires for one car, and the rear for my other car so I don't forget the inflation pressures that I use.

The unit needs to be held onto the valve stem for 2-3 seconds before the unit beeps to tell you that the pressure is recorded. It stays on the screen for 10 seconds and displays with a nice blue LCD backlight display.Unlike other Accutire gauges, this one makes a great seal between the gauge and the valve stem with absolutely no hissing or loss of air. This was on different types of tire valve stems.

Overall I like the unit, although it's a tad on the large size.It fits my hand well and the outside has a nice rubber cushion to allow you to have a good grip.A definite 5 star rating in my book.

Longacre Digital Tire Air Pressure Gauge Review

I had a similar tire gauge as a gift from Brookstone that I loved. This air gauge has done a great job in replacing that unit. The Brookstone hose was more pliable but the Longacer is longer. Also, the feature that sets the Longacre apart from other gauges is "real-time" pressure refresh a second or two after bleeding the air - other units require a reset or reseat to achieve pressure update.Calibrated in .5 increments, a must if you rely on proper air pressure for your application.

READY TO GO HI-TEC DIGITAL TIRE GAUGE Review

I have owned four of these. One for the motorcycle, one for the truck, and one each for the cars.

The Good:
These gauges are accurate, repeatable, and very small.

The Bad:
They are disposable. I get maybe a year out of them, which is perhaps 2 uses. I tried to replace the battery in one. It would be somewhat challenging for someone who did not have the necessary micro screw drivers and the patience to remove various items. Inside you will find a shoddy piece of electrical tape holding the battery in place - nice touch. After I installed a new battery, reassembled the gauge, and turned it on, I discovered that it reset itself to units that are unfamiliar to me, perhaps pascals. I never did figure out how to change the units. The price of the product is not worth the time I put into it anyway.

I don't recommend this digital pressure gauge.

Slime 2071-A Digital LED Gauge (0-99 PSI) Review

Was surprised at how light this thing is. Like holding air. Not sure how long it will last as it is so not there if you know what I mean. That being said it works quite well and appears to be accurate after testing it against three other sources. The red back light is cool and needed for low light situations. Well worth the money I think, and would buy again. The slime products are all worth having. After using this gauge twice, it wouldn't turn on.So I figured the battery was dead and I took it apart to change it.It wasn't the battery that was bad but the battery/switch contacts. Almost an hour later I finally got them to work properly. The next time I used the gauge, in the space of four tires it went from working perfectly to needing three or four tries to get an accurate reading to not working at all. Accutire MS-4710B Motorcycle 5-99 PSI Digital Tire Gauge Review

This used to be sold by Sears for $8.95 on sale. Now they only carry the oddly shaped version that is of zero use to many motorcyclists. The only other source that I've found for the real deal, as this is, would be Road Gear and they get about $25-$30 for it.When I found it at Amazon for half that, I did the only sensible thing: I bought TWO of them and placed them in cold storage right away. They are the absolute BEST tool for checking air in standard streetbike rims with the valve stem that points directly at the axle. Can't go wrong, great tool at a great price AND they are available. That may be the biggest plus right there.

2 in 1 High Performance Digital Tire Pressure Gauge Review

I have had my unit for over six months and the batteries are still very strong.

I have many tire pressure gauges which include both analog and digital types. What I really like about this one is that it won't let out any air when you take a measurement of tire pressure at the stem valve. This characteristic is important because even slight escape of air will affect tire pressure.

This unit also has an added feature: tire tread depth measure. I don't use it much, but it's handy when you need it. Much better than using a penny or a quarter.
