I live in SF and have been waiting for the rain to come, I had my first dose of it last week and these pants are very good. Trustworthy to keep you warm and dry. I like tha extra lining for the colderweather as well. The only thing is the size. No matter what size i tried on they just didn't fit super great. Always a little baggy in the thigh area. [...] was great to deal with and I'm sure I'll be purchasing things from them in the future. If your looking for a good pant, decent armour and a great price, these are them.

Keep a pair of these along with some roll-up rain gear in your saddle bags and you'll always be able to get where you are going dry regardless of how the weather turns. This is my second pair of pull-over rain boots, the first are still fully functional after a couple of years.

They aren't made for strolling around. When you get off the bike, take them off. Slip them back on when you're ready to go again. They are that convenient.

I've never had any problems with both pairs of boot covers.

Tour Master Gel Cruiser 2 Gloves - 4X-Large/Black Review

I picked these up because they looked like a good summer glove - soft leather with a good amount of mesh to keep ait flowing as well as some gel padding to reduce fatigue from vibration.

And they pretty much do what I hoped. I bought them in a medium and after about 10 hours they stretch a tiny bit to fit my hand comfortably. The gel padding on the palm and knuckles do a good job of reducing hand fatigue on longer trips (especially if you drive an older Honda twin, like I do). These don't have any armor on them, so I don't think the gel padding on the knuckles will do much in a wreck, but I guess any little bit helps.

The one small problem I have with them is the fingertips. The way the fingertips are sown together adds a small amount of extra material on the inside of the glove fingertips. Initially it was a little uncomfortable because I wasn't used to it. However - once these stretched after breaking them in, it doesn't bother me anymore. If you wore these with a thin liner you probably wouldn't notice it at all. As with all motorcycle gear - a little breakin is required.

Overall these are really great summer gloves. Great quality, they look good, and I'm glad they are part of my gear. Just don't expect an armored glove that will protect your knuckles in a laydown.

Cortech DSX DENIM JACKET BLACK XSM Review

This is a really great jacket.At 6'4" and a 45 inch chest I ordered an XL, Tall, and the fit is perfect.

Features are a microfiber layer inside the neck, zippered front with top closure tab, draw belts on the sides of the waist, and velcro closures on sleeves.The arms are pre-curved and have elastic panels on the inside of the sleeve, towards the body.There are zippered vents at wrist, bicep, shoulder, waist, and back (kidney) areas.The jacket includes a 100 gram polyfill liner that zips out.

Protection includes pads on the upper and lower back, and on the shoulders.Micorfiber and foam lined hard shell protection in the elbows and shoulders, with an additional foam insert on the lower back.The lower back foam insert and shoulder inserts are removable.I could not find a way to remove the elbow pads before washing.

The jacket is a good, heavy weight denim, with good coloring (I bought the BLUE), with heavy brass zippers.The jacket is lined with a black nylon mesh and allows for great air flow.In the tail of the jacket is a zipper for connecting to riding pants, and when the pants are not attached you have a piece of cloth to zip in so that the zipper is not cutting items or being damaged from being sat upon.

Drawbacks are that the jacket is very heavy compared to nylon jackets, but that is not a real problem when riding.The other issue is that there are no reflective stripes on the back or sides.I fixed this with American Flag patches from Nightfire Patches (not available on Amazon)on the back and sleeves.

All in all this is a great jacket and a great alternative to leather in the heat.

I was a little nervous about ordering a helmet off the internet because of fit/finish, etc.I went to a local bike shop and tried on a few helmets and ultimately settled on the J-Wing to replace my 10 year old Shoei RJ-Air.I ordered through Amazaon and saved about $40 off retail not including tax.

The helmet itself works great.It feels a little more snug than my old RJ-Air.This is probably due to my old helmet being pretty worn out but also because the J-Wing has more padding in the cheek area and around the ears.I also suffer far less buffeting than with my old helmet.I usually ride with the face shield up, but, when I'm riding toward the sun or when its cold the face shield does a very credible job of either knocking the glare and/or reducing the cold draft.Overall, I couldn't be happier.

CORTECH GX-SPORT 2 JACKET BLACK XLARGE Review

I spent two hours looking at many different types of Motorcycle jackets.

I had 3 goals
1. Protection
2. Fit
3. cooler for warmer temps

My first thought when trying on the various brand names was I was glad I am seeing these jackets in a store, instead of just buying one on the internet. Some of the jackets were heavier than me. Some fit badly even though they were my normal size medium. And the mesh jackets seemed a lot of trouble with there waterproof inserts and all.

I had Joe Rocket pants and absolutely love them but their jackets just didn't fit me and they didn't even begin to look like what I imagined on the internet.

I bought the Cortech for several reasons.

It was not bulky but it felt very protective. Some jackets seemed to weigh more than me. The jacket felt very comfortable when I moved around.

The small size fit me perfectly, I usually wear medium, but small size was just right. The sleeves were not too long or short.

It is waterproof, no more messing around with rain jackets, in Oregon this is very important.

Quality, it certainly looks, as far as I can see, to have no flaws.Very well made.

Ventilation was good but not great, arms and the front by shoulders and back had venting. It seems like 80 degrees, if moving, would be comfortable. I went to buy a mesh jacket, I just couldn't believe in the mesh jackets for protection or quality.

Reflective striping was good. I choose the color black, I just liked it, I felt the striping would keep those that could see motorcycles ample opportunity to allow my presence on the road. The blue was nice and Red was okay.

The zip out lining seem it might extend the comfort to around 45 degrees.
I liked it, doubt I will use it over 60 degrees.The armor was placed exactly in the correct position and seemed stable, there were some expensive jackets where the armor could move significantly.

And the price with my AMA discount was great.

I wish there was one jacket for all occasions, although crashing is not something I wish to too, it certainly has happen to some excellent riders. So even though I want to be cool on those hot sunny afternoons, I went for safety instead.

I am happy with my purchase, but I want to caution you to find a store, if you can that sells all the major brands. Try them on, dedicate at least one hour.I am sure I would have bought a jacket that I would have been stuck with or had to play the return game if I hadn't try them on in this store. The jacket I was going to buy, brand name, was terrible for me.

One last thing, I want to thank the Honda store that left me alone for a long time, until I was ready for them, a leisurely pace looking at jackets was wonderful.I enjoyed giving them money.

I just returned home from a 8 day - 2,400 mile motorcycle trip.I purchased these pants just for the trip.We left from Florida in 93 degree weather, went through hours of rain one day and had a morning that got as cold as 48 degrees and gust of wind that reached 45 mph one afternoon.They went through all those different weather patterns beautifully.They are extremely comfortable and gave me a great sense of reassurance that if God forbid we had had an accident I was well protected with the armor in the knees and hip area. I would recommend these pants to any women who likes to ride.I also highly recommend the 560 mile ride up in the Blue Ridge Mt.(Skyline Drive) into the National Park that ends at Front Royal in Virginia.
I am 5 foot 3 inches tall and 120 pounds and the womens SX 6-8 fit me perfectly.I took the lining out in the beginning of our trip and opened up the side zippers part way for that 93 degree day - never had to open the zippers again and never had to put the lining back in.One morning when it was a down pour for a few hours I was able to put my rain gear right over the pants. The other times that we encountered rain I didn't bother with the rain pants and the tourmaster pants kept me absolutly dry.My only suggestion would bethat if you were going to ride for more than 2-3 hours without a break you may want to stretch out your legs on and off - the slight pressure from the armor in the knees can start to give you a sore spot - it goes away immediatly when you get off and walk or stretch. Tour Master Synergy Heated Vest Liner - One size fits most/Smoke Review

Came back from Colorado in the month of October '09, and the vest came in handy.I own a "one piece" riding suit and therefore I bought it to fit me tight so the "armor" remains where it was intended to protect and not "floating" around. So there is little room for more than a T-Shirt, therefore the Tour Master Vest was just the ticket in providing heat and not add to much bulk.I would today spend the little extra to get the "jacket", my arms got quite cold (heated grips helped a lot also).
Only negative about this vest is that length of the "plug-in" lead (12Vdc power), is way too short and is a major pain to dig out so that you may provide power to the vest. This critique has been made by many who have bought it, but I think they made it this way in order to ensure that the plug in point was "sheltered" from nasty weather like rain and the such. I am going to add one foot of insulated cable to make my life easier when plugging in and out of my vest.

Cortech HDX GLOVES LADIES PINK MED Review

These gloves are great for riding, the only two points I could complain about are the fact that there are seams on the inside and that I have a popped seem on one of the fingers already. :( I still totally dig the gloves, they're great colors and they're really comfy for riding...I like the leather knuckles too.

This is a great hot weather motorcycle helmet.I have also tried the FS-3, but couldn't get along with it due to the pressure of the plastic covering the ears.The FS-2 however does not have this problem and permits the placement of speakers into the ear pads.The ventillation system can be swithched on, off, or regulated to suit.Works very well.Have used this helmet for several months now and intend to buy another.My wife kind of acquired mine because she also found it to be more comfortable than the one she had originally selected.

TOURMASTER/CORTECH STD SUMMER GLOVE BLACK SIZE:LRG Review

I purchased these gloves for some hand protection which I needed for my motorcycle class. I wore these for the duration for the class which, while not a lot of time, gave me eight hours to test them out in summer heat.

First off some good points. They're vented which aids in keeping your hands cooler than plain leather. The pad on the inside of the palm is thicker than the rest of the glove which, usually being the first place to hit the ground, makes them a touch more durable. Also the leather itself is more supple than most cowhide.

Now for the bad news. While they're vented, the cooling it adds is negligible. Also the seam for the leather is on the inside and that is its biggest flaw. As you ride the seam digs into your skin and starts irritating it.

Overall, they're cheap but it might be worth it to spring for a nicer pair if only to avoid the inner seam.

Shoei RF1000 BREAKTHROUGH TC1 LRG Review

After doing a ton of research I decided on the Shoei RF-1000 based on all of the reviews and comments.With that said, the benefits of this helmet cannot be understated.When "they" say light weight they mean light weight. You barely feel that the helmet is on your head. I live in NYC, do both city and highway riding, and I ride in rainy, cold, and hot weather (nothing too hot the real summer has not arrived yet). In this helmet you can really feel the air moving (especially at speed) so much so that you will probably need to close serveral of the vents b/c you head will get cold.The chin insert is a great touch for those 60 degree and below days when riding down the freeway can get a little chilly.I have not had any issues with fogging; however, you will need to purchase a tinted visor b/c you will not be able to wear sun glasses or glasses in general while wearing this helmet (at least without some modifications to the pads).Long story short for all of us you opt for the full face helmet the Shoei-RF 1000 is worth every penny.I love mine and any all of my friends who ride also love my helmet over thiers.

HJC CL-MAX CLMAX FLIP-UP SILVER MOTORCYCLE Full-Face-Helmet Review

Two weeks ago I crashed on the highway and did a face plant into the concrete at 75 MPH, then bounced across three lanes of traffic, all while wearing this helmet.Not a scratch on my face or head, and no head or neck injuries at all after slamming my head into the road at least 7 different times.

Not only did it protect me in my crash, but I had put in a few hundred hours of riding while wearing this helmet, and loved it.The easy access of the modular style is why I bought this helmet, but I also benefited from it's superior design.The helmet vents well while riding, is lightweight, and has very little drag (I ride a cruiser without a windshield) so the fatigue factor is minimal.

I would recommend this helmet to anybody who rides, and am buying another one myself to replace the one that just helped save my life.

Tour Master Transition Series 2 Motorcycle Jacket Medium (40) Black Review

A real nice value; having the right pockets, the right ventilation options, good fit, nice zipper closures, a servicable liner; though the insulated liner's nothing you'd wear when removed from the jacket. The jacket collar has a clever securing snap when worn in an open position. The back protection "pad" is a bit on the flimsy side, and I intend to insert an upgraded type in its place. The arm and shoulder armor is well positioned and stays properly aligned with the body areas they're designed to protect. The jacket doesn't "ride up" on your body when you're seated on the bike like a few other 3/4 length jackets I've owned. All-in-all I'm very pleased with the flexibility and range of weather conditions the jacket is suitable for. We've had a few odd spring days which started out in the mid-30's and finished off in the upper 80's and I was able to configure the jacket to be perfectly comfortable throughout the range... I'd easily recommend it to my riding buddies.

HJC CS-2N BLADE FLAT SILVER MEDIUM Review

It's a very cool looking helmet in the pictures. It also fits really well if you fit well in HJC helmets like I do. However, they put so much padding or whatever to make it DOT/SNELL compliant that it's a massive helmet. It adds 3 inches to each side of your head giving you a cartoon-ish appearance. I honestly wouldn't recommend it. Part of the reason for a half helmet is appearance and the sheer size of it ruins the look.
At least visit a store to try it on first.

Tour Master Cold-Tex Gloves - 4X-Large/Black Review

I bought these gloves for riding in the cold, 40 degrees and below. They were recommended by the dealer. I wore them in 40 degrees for half hour and my fingers were in pain. This was on a V-strom with handguards. They are no better than the ones I already own. And the liner comes out when you pull the glove off and jams up when you put the glove back on. I would like a refund but don't have the tag. And the right one is tighter than the left one. Would I buy them again.....no.
