I'm not much of a car person, but I just used this stuff on my Subaru and it did a great job of getting almost of the brake dust and gunk off the wheels. Maybe I should have used another round though, since it had been far, far too long since those wheels had been cleaned! It was definitely easy and quick as promised. Just sprayed on and hosed off a few minutes later.

EZ - Air Tire Gauge Review

Got this to extend the hose on our back-up tire pump for our Cessna. Works best on that hard to reach nose wheel. The lever fits in narrow spaces unlike the typical "L" shaped models. Also provides about a foot of extra reach when used with a bicycle type pump. The gauge seems to be accurate and it appears to be well made.

Accutire MS-5510B Racing Tire Gauge Review

This gauge works well and is easy to read. It seats well and does mostly what it should.
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding from what I have read in other reviews. Let's clear a few things up.
First of all, you do NOT have to wait ten seconds between readings. You DO have to hit the recall button on the bottom between readings.
Secondly, you DO NOT have to send the unit back to replace the batteries. The instructions VERY clearly state the model number of user replaceable batteries (if you were to read the instructions).
The hose was flexible for me in 30 degree weather contrary to what I have read elsewhere. Maybe it gets stiff in really cold weather but then I use mine in the garage.

Mothers 20324 FX Tire Shine - 24 oz Review

Mother's FX Tire Shine really lasts. It works its way into the tire and stayed strong for a few days. Even after the shine faded the tire had a nice rich black look to it. I have used Black Magic in the past, and that product would sling all over the wheel after driving. Have not experienced any sling with the FX! Very good product.

Please ignore the other two users that gave this gauge only one star because it only read 28.5 psi.I find it amusing, but sad, that they didn't realize that there was a protective sticker on the screen that read 28.5.If you peel off that protective sticker, then you get a nice, bright red backlit number displaying your true tire pressure.This gauge works great!The display is amazingly easy to read, and it is also simple to get a good reading.

Prior to owning this Accutire model, I had a 7 year old Accutire digital gauge that finally broke.WIth that old model, it was much harder to get a reading without air leaking out.With this new model, if you just push the gauge straight into the valve stem, you easily get a solid reading without leaking air.The old model's display wasn't backlit either, and I was truly impressed with the large, bright numbers on this new model.I'd highly recommend getting this gauge, as it has all the functionality you need, at a very reasonable price.I like having accuracy to 0.5 psi, and I never use non-digital gauges unless I have no other choice.I also tested this gauge with back-to-back measurements, and it was accurate every time.You won't regret this purchase...

Extremely accurate, ergonomic, does not have the external pointer stop to bend the pointer, and it is easy to read.It does not hold pressure after the gauge is removed; the button on the side is for bleeding off pressure only. Purchase the rubber Moroso 89590 Tire Pressure Gauge Cover that is made for it, the protection and improved handling make it well worth the money and it looks much better with the cover on.

When buying a tool it is best to get a good one that will last for years.The research I did on the internet paid off, I am totally satisfied with this gauge.Because it is a new style it can take a few times to get used to using it.I recommend putting your index finger under the nozzle to make sure the gauge goes on straight to avoid unwanted leaking and apply pressure with your thumb, after using it a while this is may not be necessary.

Being a mechanic I check my tire pressures on both vehicles once a week and accuracy and ease of use is very important to me. I keep this gauge inside the house to keep it nice and my old gauges in the vehicles.

According to Moroso, each Moroso 89560 gauge is individually calibrated for accuracy within 2% which means that at 50 psi the gauge should be not lower than 49 or above 51 as it will not be off by more than 1 psi.

The Moroso 89562 Pro Series Tire Pressure Gauge which is accurate within one half percent which means that the Pro gauge would be not lower than 49.75 or above 50.25 at 50 psi as it will not be off by more than one fourth psi.

I had my Moroso 89560 gauge tested on digital calibration equipment and it was as accurate as the Pro is advertised to be through the range of 5 to 60. If you have a tire that loses more than 1 or 2 psi a month you can have a nail or other leak and several times I have found leaks by regular checks when one tire was lower than the other three.

With high gas prices, keeping your tires properly inflated helps to get the best gas mileage, and twice I have been driving along and have seen people with low tires have blowouts which you can help to avoid by catching slow leaks early.

The gauge is a great value and Amazon.com helped me to get the best price on a product I am totally satisfied with.The one gauge I currently have developed a bent pointer from the external stop, the Moroso does not have the stop and I wanted a nice gauge that would last and be easy to use so I am totally delighted and completely satisfied with the Moroso.

Milton S448 Tire Tread Depth Gauge Review

I bought this because I can' find them anywhere in any local auto parts vendor.I use it to determine when to replace my tires and measure my tires for winter traction (4/32" minimum for snow - tire tread visual indicators are 2/32" so they are useless to me) so no more guessing or finding those lincoln pennies for me.It works very well but is a little messy since the shaft oil rubs all over your fingers.I keep it safely stored away from dust in my toolbox.

Security Chain Company SC1038 Radial Chain Cable Traction Tire Chain - Set of 2 Review

So I got some of these from the local Napa, They were great. Paid 2x what Amazon charges. They are amazing in snow. I drive a low provile BMW 3 series. It cannot handle 3 inches of snow on my street tires. With these chains I was pushing thru ice and 8 inches of snow like it was the race track. Only problem I had with them is even stay under 30mph on bare road, they wore out rather quickly. I need these to get in and out of the side streets I live on, but the main roads are generally clear. They did last about 5 weeks of daily use, then they pretty much fell apart. After you lose 1 link, you might as well junk em, as the rest will go rather shortly. I'm buying my second set now. At this price I'll buy em every 5 weeks if I have to. (BTW i'm a Cali boy, and i got moved to Eire, PA so you can an idea of my problem)

Slime COMP06 Pro Power Heavy-Duty Tire Inflator Review

I'm writing this review because the Amazon description doesn't inform you that you NEED 15 amps to power the device as clearly stated in the owner's manual. Unfortunately, I didn't know this before purchase so when I plugged it into my Honda Pilot which only supplies 10 amps, it didn't work. I called Slime customer service who confirmed that all their products require 15 amps.

Check your car owner's manual to make sure your power socket supplies 15 amps!

I'm giving it 5 stars because the device itself looks very high quality with a nice storage case. Slime customer service was also speedy and helpful. Too bad the Amazon item description was inadequate.

UPDATE: I have since bought the Black & Decker ASI300 Air Station Inflator which works great with my car.

I've owned two other tire inflators: both Craftsman.Both were as loud as a jackhammer and caused a massive racket when in use.And they were quite slow in inflating my car tires so the racket went on for longer than I desired.The primary features I wanted in a new unit was low noise output and an ability to inflate my 20" SUV tires.Wow! does this unit deliver!I plugged it in one of my car power outlets and turned it on in my enclosed garage. AutoSock HP 735 Winter Traction Aid, For High Performance Tires Review

It works very well.It might be harder to install than it looks on the promotional video.However, it is still easier and faster than traditional tire chains.Removing is even simpler.Great design.

Here is the catch.It won't last especially if you drive on non-icy/snowy road.Like if the road has been sanded on the ice/snow.It's made with cloth and will tear.Be sure to follow the instructions.

It is a must have if you can't put normal tire chain.$100 to buy a insurance or safety from being stuck in the snow or slip on the icy road.It is total worth it.

I am considering other brand like RUDmatic Soft Spike (claim the cloth contain wire) and Snobootz (rubber thing) but they are not available anywhere for my tires.

Thule, Spikes Spiders and Centrax are more expensive but extremely easy to install.I personally vote for Thule but can't find any either for my tires.

I decided to try out the Autosock after my pain in the ___ chains broke on a previous trip to Lake Tahoe. I drove my 2-wheel-drive Honda CR-V on a recent trip to Kirkwood, where Highway 88 was extremely icy. Once the signs read "Chains required," I threw on my Autosock, which took about 1 minute as advertised. With them on, the roads no longer felt slippery, and helped me up the rest of the way without any trouble. They are definitely much easier to put on than chains, and come without the hassle and noise.Even with the roads being covered with snow/ice, there were still plenty of rocks/sand. Since the Autosock is fabric based, it is bound to wear easily. After just my 1st trip, there are several small holes/tears. This is not a huge problem for me since my mother is a seamstress and can stitch these small tears back together and prevent them from becoming big holes. I was careful not to go above the recommended 30 mph, but hit 35 mph max at certain points. I definitely recommend you not to go over the 30 mph limit, but that goes the same for chains.

Laws:
You should also check your specific state's laws to see whether or not the Autosock will be allowed through chain control checkpoints. In California, the signs on the road read "Chains," but Caltrans website says "Traction Devices" are OK.

The Accutire "Setpoint Tire Gauge," model MS-4350B from "MSI Sensors" (aka "MS-4350: Digital Set Point Programmable..." from "Measurement Specialties"), UPC 1550710566, has seven nice features.First, it's easy to hold.The bottom of the larger-than-usual body is rubberized, and the shape allows you to firmly press it onto a tire valve stem with a thumb.Second, there is an LED light activated by a big round button on the back.Third, the screen is backlit and the numbers are large.Fourth, there is no need to turn it on/off.Instead, you can push the nozzle onto the valve, and it displays the measurement; about 15 seconds later, it turns itself off.Fifth, it beeps when an accurate reading is taken.Sixth, the two CR2032 lithium batteries will presumably last a long time, and can be replaced if they wear out.Finally, if you keep forgetting how much air is needed, you can program separate front & rear target pressures.

UNFORTUNATELY, it's hard to obtain a solid seal on valves.It's the same problem noted here and in reviews of "Accutire MS-4000B Deluxe Backlit Lithium Digital Tire Gauge" on Amazon.com. One September 24, 2004, review there by "Crazy Dude" says "because you're pressing plastic (the gauge) against metal (the tire air stem), you must hold it perfectly flush or air will escape, making a reading difficult to get."

So to improve my gauge I more-or-less followed the instructions of "Crazy Dude," which were: "I used '3M Scotch linerless rubber splicing tape.' The thickness is important. I used .03 in. (.761mm). I wouldn't go any thicker. ...All you need to do is cut it to the diameter of the inside of the gauge's mouth, then cut out a small hole for the air hole."

Since my home has no rubber tape, I took a wide pink rubber band (from a bunch of broccoli) about 0.75mm thick.I cut a gasket about 7.5mm diameter with a 3mm hole and glued it in place.Now it works like a charm.If you have the time to make this modification, buy it from Amazon.com!
